GIM ROBOTICS AT EUROPEAN ROBOTICS FORUM 2024
The annual European Robotics Forum (ERF) will take place in Rimini, Italy on March 13-15th. GIM Robotics will participate in the “Workshop of Heavy Machinery: Joint use of autonomous machines and cooperation with people” on March 13th, starting at 14:40. Our CMO, Dr. Mika Vainio, will give a presentation titled as “FUTURE WORKSITES – from academic demonstrations to real-world implementations.”
FUTURE WORKSITE
We have been doing distributed autonomous robot research and development for more than 30 years. Our seminal Robot Society concept* was released in 1993 and Future Worksite concept** was presented in 2007 during our university times at Helsinki University of Technology (later Aalto University). The key issues were related not only to successful coordination in different types of heterogenous multi-robot systems but also to our Shared/Common Presence concept*** where the focus was to enable man-machine existence and efficient cooperation in common operation environments.

COMMERCIAL USE CASES
For the last 10 years, we have been applying our extensive expertise as GIM Robotics to real-world use cases with our partners and clients. Some of them are public, most of them not. Dr. Vainio will present some of the public ones during his presentation.
COME AND TALK WITH US
If you are planning to participate in the ERF2024, make sure to come to Faro room at 12:40 on Feb. 13th to hear how we anticipate the future will turn out, as humans and multiple mobile machines are sharing the same environment and working jointly to achieve common objectives.
Let’s talk Robotics!
