EUROPEAN ROBOTICS FORUM

PROPELLER HEADS, SUITS, AND BUREAUCRATS

European Robotics Forum 2022, 28-30 June 2022, Rotterdam, Ahoy Centre

GIM Robotics ends its spring/early summer European Tour with a bang at ERF2022. Our guys have been zigzagging across Europe and meeting hundreds if not thousands of people from various industry domains, all of which have been interested to increase the level autonomy of their various mobile working machines. However, going to ERF2022 is like going back in time, because of the event’s tight connection to the academic world.

FROM ACADEMY TO INDUSTRY

GIM Robotics is based on decades of academic research at Helsinki University of Technology, later @Aalto University, starting from 1985 when one of our founders, professor (emeritius) Aarne Halme, started Automation Technology Laboratory. Most of our guys are M.Sc. graduates from the same university, including seven doctors (D.Sc.(Tech.)) and two ex-professors. We were trained in the academic world, but since 2014, we have been operating as a company and learnt the Differences between the university and the business world. Differences – in plural and in capital.

Centauroid-type service robot Workpartner, aka WoPa, from our glorius days at Helsinki University of Technology / Aalto University. The versatile robot could move with wheels, walk with four legs or rolk with wheels/legs, while performing various task together with the operator. WoPa is enjoying its retirement day at the Museum of Technology, Helsinki. We are sure that it would enjoy visits from robotics professionals and beyond.

SPONSORING AND EXHIBITING

European Robotics Forum is THE event in Europe, where we feel most at ease and where we expect to see plenty of old friends from the universities and equally many from our clients and partnership companies. Worry not, we still have bandwidth for brand new acquaintances, regardless of where you come from. We are a proud sponsor of the event, and we will man a small booth (No. 12) to make sure that you will always find one of us when you want.

Come to meet us. Let’s talk about robotics.
