Business Finland has this thing called Smart Forestry - and GIM Robotics is there to chip in.
Forestry industry is going through an extensive transformation, with inventory, harvesting and management all going digital and data-driven. Finland represents many of the industry best practices in terms of smart forestry solutions. Forest planning and optimization have long traditions and large forest owners are already using the data extensively in forest management. Some of the most developed harvesting and wood logistic machinery manufacturers and technology developers are in Finland. Several high-quality research groups at universities and research institutes are focusing on the relevant research issues beyond the level of state-of-the-art.
Business Finland has been actively promoting the concept of Smart Forestry under the Smart Mobility and Batteries program, aiming at identifying new business opportunities in the global sustainable forestry and wood sourcing value chain. GIM Robotics, and earlier some of our key researchers, have been active in the forestry machine field for more than 20 years, so we are honored to be named as one of the key solution providers in Finland.
