GSE Expo Europe is happening in Lisbon on 15-17 September 2026, and GIM Robotics will be there.
The off-highway industry is moving fast, and we are heading to Cologne to be part of the conversation!
Airports run on tugs, tractors and dollies moving Unit Load Devices across the apron, 24/7. It is one of the biggest untapped opportunities for automation in logistics, and one of the best suited: aprons are controlled, rule-based environments with fixed routes, exactly the kind of setting where autonomous machines perform reliably.
In practice, a robotised tugger can run cargo routes around the clock without fatigue, hold precise, repeatable paths near aircraft and other high-value equipment, and free up experienced operators for the tasks that still need a human. Fleets can also scale up during peak traffic without a matching rise in headcount, at a time when finding skilled operators is getting harder everywhere.
This does not require replacing the fleet you already have. Many tuggers in service today are electrified and drive-by-wire capable, making them strong candidates for retrofitting rather than buying new, for a shorter, more realistic path to autonomy. Send us a message and meet at GSE Expo Europe in Lisbon. We would be glad to discuss the possibilities for your fleet.
Jussi Suomela and Mark Niemi will be in Lisbon to answer your questions. Send them a message and arrange a meeting.
