On 28 and 29 October 2026, Munich hosts the 3rd international Off-Road Autonomy & Robotics conference, organised by Orbimind. The event is aimed at OEM teams that want to move autonomy from advanced engineering into production-ready, validated and supportable machine platforms.
What the conference covers
More than 30 speakers and over 100 engineering and operations leaders will meet for two days of talks, panels and case studies from real deployments. The focus is on safety, system integration and return on investment. The industries in scope are construction, mining, agriculture, forestry, and ports and logistics.
Speakers come from companies including Kubota, Scania, Volvo Autonomous Solutions, CNH, Epiroc, Sandvik, Husqvarna Construction, PORR, Palfinger and Yanmar, alongside research partners such as Fraunhofer IESE, RISE Sweden and the Gran Sasso Science Institute.

Topics that matter to us
Several sessions address questions we work on every day:
- Perception in difficult conditions: how LiDAR and radar keep working in dust, darkness, vibration and changing weather, and how they fit into OEM sensor-fusion architectures. Read more
- Affordable autonomy: how lower-volume machine platforms can combine localisation, perception and vehicle control while reducing engineering effort, cost and integration time. Read more
- Passing OEM qualification: what autonomy suppliers need to prove before their technology is integrated, from safety evidence to long-term maintainability.
- Mixed fleets and interoperability: how to coordinate machines from different manufacturers and avoid vendor lock-in.
- Safety and validation: functional safety, simulation, digital twins and testing in GNSS-degraded conditions.
Meet our CTO in Munich
Our CTO, Dr. José Luis Peralta, will attend the conference and is happy to connect with other participants. If you would like to exchange ideas or discuss your autonomy challenges, you are welcome to arrange a meeting with him directly by email at jose.luis.peralta(a)gimrobotics.fi or on LinkedIn.
