POWERED BY GIM SOFTWARE STACK
We specialize in design, research, development and integration of intelligent robotic systems. GIM Robotics delivers software that makes our clients’ mobile working machines in all industries more intelligent, precise and efficient. With our help, their vehicles can start driving autonomously. That being the case, it is no wonder, that most of our coolest projects are secured with ironclad non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and we just can’t reveal them.
Maybe we dare to mention, that our algorithms have been used for example for localizing locomotives while providing them situational awareness, providing GNSS-free localization, situational awareness, and berthing operations for ocean-going vessels, raising autonomy levels of agriculture and forestry machines by localizing them in GNSS-challenged environments and providing full-stack solutions for various road-based vehicles. We hope that the above text is vague enough and will not ruffle any feathers.
Luckily, we also have a great portfolio of public references, which we are more than happy to share. Some of them are presented below.

AVANT TECNO
In collaboration with Avant Tecno’s R&D team, GIM Robotics developed a proof of concept autonomous compact loader from Avant Tecno’s latest full-electric compact multi-functional loader.
ABB MARINE & PORTS
ABB Marine & Ports is making marine situational awareness systems to improve safety and efficiency at sea. GIM Robotics is contributing to ABB’s development program with professional services and best practice expertise from other industries.
ŠKODA GROUP
Together with Škoda Group, GIM Robotics is making tomorrow’s city traffic safer and more efficient. Škoda Group launched 21.09.2022 its groundbreaking Anti-Collision system at InnoTrans fairs in Berlin, Germany.
Tram drivers work long hours in all-weather conditions – also when the nights get dark. Therefore collisions with cars, people and abandoned objects like electric scooters are not rare. Our common goal is to reduce the amount and severity of these collisions, by assisting the driver, or by automatically braking. These are functions of Škoda Group’s Anti-Collision System that is being developed jointly in the Czech Republic and Finland.
TROMBIA FREE
A true Game changer, Trombia Free, has been rocking the street sweeping business since its launch in autumn 2020. GIM Robotics has been involved in the development of this wonderful autonomous robot from very early phases. We were so happy to see the full system launch at IFAT and we are sure that it will be a huge success. We can hardly wait.
FINTRAFFIC - DIGIRAIL
Extensive R&D resources have been directed to improve current electrified railway operations on the EU level and beyond, so that the future solutions would be safer and more efficient. To achieve the efficiency and safety related objectives, the level of autonomy needs to be raised to reduce the possibility of human error in some critical operations and to increase the maximum usage of the rolling stock. To do that, you need to be able to localize the train, in any conditions, and to understand what is happening around, and especially, in front of it. The topic has been actively researched also in Finland for many years. GIM Robotics has been working with railway based systems publicly since 2019, when VR (the state owned national railway company in Finland) selected GIM Robotics to pilot modern technology solutions for improving railway safety issues. After that project, GIM Robotics has participated in a large national Finntraffic coordinated Digirail project aiming “Towards Digital and Intelligent Rail Transport”.
LMAD
In summer 2020, LMAD successfully operated its last mile autonomous delivery platform at the Aalto University Campus, near Helsinki, Finland. The local K-Market grocery store offered its customers the option of ordering their groceries online and having them delivered by LMAD’s autonomous delivery robot. The robot was built by GIM Robotics.
The last-mile delivery is one of those really hot topics in service robotics business. This LMAD led EIT Digital supported project together with Futurice, Forum Virium Helsinki, Bestmile, ClickandEasy, TwinswHeel and Cap Digital was a real success story so far and we at GIM Robotics can hardly wait for the next phase.
