Summer season is finally over and it is time to get busy. In addition to seemingly continuous stream of client meetings, online and face-to-face, we have been fortunate to be involved in a bunch of events, domestic and foreign. Below, we have listed the most relevant ones. We keep on updating the list when we get new confirmations.
Future Mobile Work Machine 7-8.10, Tampere
Future Mobile Work Machine, organised by SIX Mobile Work Machines and FIMA- Forum for Intelligent Machines, is an insightful forerunner event focusing on the future of the non-road mobile machine industry, and an excellent opportunity to meet world leaders in their field. The event’s target participants come from machine manufacturers, technology companies, other collaborators, and research organizations in the industry. The event is intended especially for executives, directors, managers, and experts responsible for companies’ future technologies and business operations, and for professors and researchers of the relevant research areas.
This year’s theme is “Data as a Driver of New Value”. During the first day, you have a unique chance to experience the most interesting showcase sites and Technology EXPO, journeying around the Tampere area while visiting the event partners. The programme at the showcase sites consists of content and demos by host companies and their partners. The second day is a more traditional seminar day with top expert keynote speakers carefully selected for the occasion.
GIM Robotics’ this year’s task force consists of three doctors: co-founder and Sales Director Jussi Suomela, co-founder and CTO Jose Luis Peralta and CMO / Ecosystem Lead Mika Vainio. If you want to have a chat with any (or all) of them, book a meeting in advance. The boys will be there throughout the event taking place in hotel Rosendahl.

Mobile Robotics Summit, 8-9.10, Dusseldorf
Modern robot technologies and artificial intelligence are already revolutionizing processes in production, warehousing, and logistics today. Current developments in industry and logistics – such as the increasing shortage of skilled workers, rapidly advancing digitalization, and the growing pressure for sustainable and efficient processes – illustrate how urgently innovative solutions are needed. What opportunities does the use of mobile robotic systems offer companies – and what risks need to be addressed? At the new Mobile Robotics Summit you will find answers to these questions. Discuss with Top-Experts about the future of robotics, the transformation of business processes through automation, and the impact of artificial intelligence on modern business processes.
The Mobile Robotics Summit is not just a trade fair – it is a think tank for everyone who wants to actively drive the automation of their processes. Here, science and practice, startups and global players, technology providers and users come together. Whether you are interested in autonomous transport vehicles, intelligent fleet management, the integration of robotics into Industry 4.0 architectures, or the future of AI-supported automation – at the Summit you will find the relevant answers.
Our Business Development Manager David Lopez participates in the event. Make sure to connect with him and have a chat about our solutions and offerings in this field.

VDMA European Robotics and Automation Summit, 9-11.10, Bologna
VDMA Robotics + Automation will host a unique and powerful gathering of selected CEO and leaders from across the European robotics and automation industry in Bologna, Italy. Our CEO and co-founder Dr. Jari Saarinen is among them.
The European Summit is aimed at an international audience and is specially designed for managers. Every two years, it offers an exclusive platform for networking, knowledge sharing and joint problem-solving in the fields of machine vision, robotics and integrated assembly solutions. The Summit enables reflection and strategic discussions on the topic of “Mastering Change” in a dynamic business environment. It includes moderated discussions and interactive workshops that provide participants with insights and strategies to successfully overcome the challenges and opportunities. The focus is on strategic guidelines for the future success of the robotics and automation industry.

The event is by invitation only.

IROS25, 19-25.10, China
The 2025 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2025) will be held from October 19 to 25, 2025 in Hangzhou, China. IROS is one of the most important robotics conferences in the world and impactful forum for the international robotics research community to explore the frontier of science and technology in intelligent robots and smart machines, emphasizing future directions and the latest approaches, designs, and outcomes. In addition to technical sessions and multi-media presentations, IROS conferences also hold panel discussions, forums, workshops, tutorials, exhibits, and technical tours to enrich the fruitful discussions among conference attendees.
Workshop on Perception and Navigation for Autonomous Heavy Machines in Shared Environments
Automation is rapidly advancing in off-road industries, creating an urgent need for research on autonomy in unstructured and dynamic environments. Autonomous heavy vehicles – such as trucks, excavators, and loaders – are transforming construction, mining, and logistics by improving safety, efficiency, and reliability. However, deploying these systems presents three major challenges: perception in harsh environments, navigation across unstructured terrains, and human-vehicle collaboration in shared workspaces. Perception systems struggle to detect and classify obstacles in harsh conditions such as fog and uneven lighting. Navigation and motion planning must address difficulties in planning safe and efficient trajectories on slippery, muddy, or uneven terrains, while considering vehicles size, weight, and limited maneuverability. As autonomous systems are often deployed alongside human-driven machines and in human-populated environments, human-vehicle collaboration in shared workspaces poses additional safety and efficiency challenges.
This workshop will bring together robotics researchers and industry experts to address these challenges, with a focus on reliable perception, adaptive motion planning, and human-aware autonomy. Unlike previous workshops that have primarily focused on urban driving, structured industrial settings, or general field robotics, this event will specifically target the challenges of autonomous off-road heavy vehicle in highly un- structured and shared environments.
This workshop aligns closely with IROS 2025s mission to advance cutting-edge robotics research and expand the focus on autonomous heavy vehicles — an underrepresented yet high-impact robotics domain. By integrating perspectives from academia and industry, this event will contribute to shaping future research direc- tions and provide collaborative opportunities to accelerate the real-world deployment of autonomous heavy vehicles.
Our CEO and co-founder Dr. Jari Saarinen’s talk “Real-World Applications of Autonomy: Insights from GIM Robotics on Heavy Machinery Navigation” highlights our long hostory in this field. If you are participating in IROS 2025 make sure to book a slot for his presentation (Oct. 20th, 16:20 – 16:45).
