SIX Mobile Work Machines and FIMA – Forum for Intelligent Machines invite mobile machine industry players and research institutes to participate in their joint results seminar. If you are interested in mobile work machines and field and service robotics, this is one of the best events for you in Finland. A full day packed with presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities. GIM Robotics is a solution member of SIX Mobile Work Machines and a proud member of FIMA.

The main theme of Results Seminar 2025 is the industry-research collaboration through the following topics:
- Current status and the future of mobile machinery research in Finland
- Result highlights from selected cases of industry-research collaboration.
- Needed enablers and requirements for companies to utilize academic results.
In addition to the presentations in the program the seminar includes excellent networking possibilities in the stands of the leading research organizations in mobile machinery domain.
COMPANIES’ CAPABILITIES TO UTILIZE ACADEMIC RESULTS
In the afternoon, our CTO, Dr Jose Peralta is presenting our views how companies can use the results obtained from common activities with the universities. The title of his presentation is “The Utilization of Academic Results in a Commercial Setting: The GIM Robotics Example”. Jose is also part of the following panel discussion, which is digging deeper into the same topic.
Based on our long academic background, we have excellent relationships with the leading universities in this domain – in Finland and beyond. We have conducted several joint Master Thesis works with selected universities during the last five years and we have been encouraging some of our motivated workers to start their doctoral studies with our closest university friends in Finland.
THE EUROPEAN CONNECTION
Additionally, we have had multiple joint activities with universities mainly through various Business Finland and European Union funded projects and research networks like Tampere University coordinated and recently ended Innovative European Industrial Doctorate (EID) research and training programme – MORE. As an example of that active and tight collaboration, we can introduce SPECTRO. It is a EU funded and EIT-Digital coordinated SPecialised Education programmes in CybersecuriTy and Robotics. It includes 12 universities all over the Europe, including Aalto University and Turku University (see the picture below). We are the only robotics company in the program.

MEET OUR CO-FOUNDERS
All our living co-founders can be found at the event. So, if you just want to say hi, or talk about possible future joint activities with our CEO, Dr. Jari Saarinen, our CTO, Dr. Jose Luis Peralta and our Sales Director, Dr. Jussi Suomela, this event is the right place to do that. You can meet all three for the price of one, so to speak. To fix a meeting with any of them, please visit our Contact page.
